Linden Elstran uses objects to tell stories.
With a background in History and Fine Art, they are acutely aware of objects as a record of human experience. Objects are made, kept, used, and sometimes broken through a series of decisions. From this vantage point, Linden builds still lifes to express both beauty and narrative.
As a production designer, Linden specializes in magnifying constructed spaces. The edge of a pillow creates a bed; a doorframe and shadow calls to another room; the first steps of an interior staircase insist on a second story. Linden plays with precisely chosen details and perspective to imply an entire world, just outside the frame of the image.
